IN THE SILENCE OF THE NIGHT (REFLECTION OF A NIGHT'S WORKER)

By Pujangga Malam

Silent night
Not a sound was heard
Not a word was spoken
No beauty was spread

Strains of the song, guitar and pounding drums
     Stomping a silent souls
Graceful sway, smile and cordial greeting from the singer who cheerfully
Add a lively atmosphere of the night

Not realizing we were lulled
Not realizing we were entertained
Like a melodious strains of a flute
Deceitfulness of the devil who has made us destroyed

     Surely we lose the incomparable
     Too preoccupied with mortality
Too love and servant to the world
So forget the eternal afterlife forever

No longer heard the strains of the Holy Qur'an verses in our ears
No longer spoken Dhikr strands of our lips
No more pervasive Adzan echoes in our hearts
No longer feel the beauty of worship in our daily lives

     Are we so arrogant
     Are we so great
So we only think of wealth and throne
Without being able to feel HIS presence

We've gone too far to get closer to HIS
We are too great to be able to bow our heads in the presence of HIS
We've been too perfect to be able to ask to HIS
But we forget that we are all of HIS creations

With all the humiliation and the inability
     Prostrate and begged forgiveness
Return to the path of truth
     Spared from evil persuasion

Are we still doing disobedience and misguidance
Fear of not eating and losing our livelihoods
All questions back to us
Have we dare to leave it all?

Sorry if my writing as well as the phrase that i use is very imperfect and irregular. I use google translation and also assisted by my friend. Please correct from you who read this paper.
